Apr. 26th, 2012 12:14 am Madge had to get out of the house. She couldn't stay there when she knew that her only friend was on her way to the Capitol to be put in the death match. It made her resent the ways of the Capitol even more, knowing that someone with so few entries could be the one picked.... To know that her sister had volunteered to save her life.
Without really thinking of where she'd been going, she paused as she noticed her feet had taken her to the very outskirts of the District. She pursed her lips and threw a wary glance back over her shoulder. She had wandered out of the town.... And she had completely passed the Seam. How had she gotten so far without any peacekeepers noticing? Or even without anyone in the District having stopped her? The kids from the Seam would have loved the reason to taunt her, to call her Princess and tell her she was on the wrong side of the District. The kids from Town would have stopped her to tell her to stay away from the Seam.
But no one stopped her, which was what brought her face to face with the fence. The fence that distinctly lacked a telltale hum. Was this where Katniss and Gale went to hunt? The other side of this fence? She couldn't help but wonder, and was now wondering just how out of place she must look standing there and staring. Blonde hair curling down her back, jeans that hardly looked worn and a considerably nice shirt. Maybe.... just maybe she should turn and head back home... Or to one of the shops in town. But her feet wouldn't let her. So, for now, the Mayor's daughter was just going to stand there and stare.... And contemplate ducking under that fence like she knew she shouldn't.
